Course Description

This course will introduce you to the basic principles of the SaeboGlove, evidence-based research concerning the purpose and use of dynamic orthoses for neurological recovery, and reasons to use finger extension assist devices for upper extremity recovery. 

This introductory course is intended for medical professionals (e.g. OT/OTA, PT/PTA, Physicians, Orthotists) directly related to the rehabilitation of a patient or client. To participate in this course and receive credit, the participant must be a licensed, treating clinician. Following completion of this course and a ≥ 80% score on the quiz, the learner will receive a certificate. You will have 90 days to complete this course.

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify EBR related to the importance of occupation-based, task-specific training for the upper limb.

  • Identify EBR related to the use and efficacy of functional orthoses.

  • List the criteria required to use a finger extension-assist functional orthosis.
