Overview

This 45-minute continuing education course is presented by Dr. Scott Thompson, OTD, MOT, OTR/L, LSVT, the Director of Clinical Services for Saebo, Inc. The course will introduce you to the principles behind the SaeboMAS and SaeboMAS mini, evidence-based research concerning the purpose and use of dynamic arm supports for neurological recovery, and reasons to use the SaeboMAS and SaeboMAS mini for the upper extremity with spasticity. Completion of this course will reward the participant with 0.75 NBCOT PDUs (0.075 AOTA Approved CEUs), following completion of the presentation and a ≥80% score on the quiz. This course will provide evidence-based research on gravity supported training, mobile/dynamic arm splints, features and benefits of the SaeboMAS, and why using the SaeboMAS in the clinic and at home can elevate the level of treatment and recovery. This introductory CEU course is intended for medical professionals (e.g. OT/OTA, PT/PTA, Physicians, Orthotists) directly related to the rehabilitation of a patient or client. To participate in this CEU and receive credit, the participant must be a licensed, treating clinician.

Dr. Scott Thompson, OTD, MOT, OTR/L, CSRS, LSVT-BIG

Dr. Scott Thompson is a doctor of occupational therapy specializing in geriatrics and neurological rehabilitation with advanced treatment certifications in CSRS, LSVT-BIG and Saebo certifications. He currently is the Director of Clinical Services for Saebo, Inc., which includes product and business development, CEU development, research, marketing, sales, and online instructional videos. He also works as a per diem therapist to remain connected to clients, colleagues, and treatment, serves on multiple college advisory boards, and is a former executive chair for his State's Association and Foundation.
