Overview

This 30-minute continuing education course is presented by Dr. Scott Thompson, OTD, MOT, OTR/L, LSVT, the Director of Clinical Services for Saebo, Inc. The course will introduce you to the basic principles of the SaeboGlove, evidence-based research concerning the purpose and use of dynamic orthotics for neurological recovery, and reasons to use finger extension assist devices for upper extremity recovery. This introductory CEU course is intended for medical professionals (e.g. OT/OTA, PT/PTA, Physicians, Orthotists) directly related to the rehabilitation of a patient or client. To participate in this CEU and receive credit, the participant must be a licensed, treating clinician. Completion of this course will reward the participant with 0.5 NBCOT PDUs (0.05 AOTA CEUs), following completion of the presentation and a ≥80% score on the quiz. You will have 90 days to complete this course. This course will provide topics covering functional splinting and finger extension assist devices for upper limb recovery, the research behind the development of the SaeboGlove, diagnoses that benefit from the use of the SaeboGlove, and why video presentation on before and after-effects of using the SaeboGlove on various diagnoses.

Dr. Scott Thompson, OTD, MOT, OTR/L, CSRS, LSVT-BIG

Dr. Scott Thompson is a doctor of occupational therapy specializing in geriatrics and neurological rehabilitation with advanced treatment certifications in CSRS, LSVT-BIG and Saebo certifications. He currently is the Director of Clinical Services for Saebo, Inc., which includes product and business development, CEU development, research, marketing, sales, and online instructional videos. He also works as a per diem therapist to remain connected to clients, colleagues, and treatment, serves on multiple college advisory boards, and is a former executive chair for his State's Association and Foundation.
